Should have bought more to bring home, as we were driving back to Denver the next day. Would be great for a day after skiing, if you're staying around the Crystal Inn. ”

“ The owners are very friendly. What a fun restaurant! We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. They have four or five indoor picnic tables to share with other diners. They provide onions, pickles, peppers and marinated veggies to add to the meat. We ordered brisket, ribs, cole slaw, baked beans, and macaroni & cheese. Combo meals come with slices of white bread. They warm their bbq sauce to keep meats hot. Everything was delicious. My husband and I shared a two-meat combo plate. There was plenty of food. They even provide toothpicks, huge lemon-scented wipes and mints. Plus lots of napkins, paper towels and hand sanitizer. It was clean and cozy. Next time I'd like to try their peach, blackberry or cherry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. They cater and have won several awards. ”

“ Finally made it in for prime rib Friday. I'll be honest, not a huge rib or steak guy. So much so that i was expecting ribs for prime rib instead of more like a steak. I like my meat for sure but never really felt like I needed a whole plate of it, I eat a lot but usually I like a variety of flavors in a plate. But I overdosed on tofu the other day so decided Kaisers was the cure to my ailment. I've stopped in once a year or two back and had a very regular BBQ experience: the food was pretty good and I was very full, but nothing stood out compared to other BBQ joints. So why did I come back? The very eclectic/antique shop/ hoarder vibes. If you've seen pics or read other reviews you know the place looks like a house that was converted into an auto mechanic garage converted into a BBQ joint (tho it actually used to be a butcher house or whatever they're called) that looks like it's perpetually having an antique scrapyard sale. I feel like that's a turnoff for many but I loved feeling like I was eating in someone's garage they put picnic tables in instead of a restaurant, I've eaten inside a ton of those. Ok sorry now I will talk about the food. The prime rib which is on fridays is either a half pound ($19) or full lb ($35). I got that plus a cheddar jalapeño sausage ($6.50) which is made in house. The prime rib was very nicely marbled and so soft. I wish it had a tad more dry seasoning to get a bit more of that outer crisp but it had a very nice smoke flavor and was still a damn fine slab of meat. The sausage was excellent too and set a new size standard as both ends were poking out of one of the long rectangular to-go boxes. The guy gave me some horseradish as well which was great with the sausage. MI wasn't very impressed with the sides I got tho: I chose stewed okra which was basically flavorless mush and coleslaw which was fine. But now I know to try the beans or cornbread next time. The price point (at least for their 2 or 3 meat plates) is comparable or a tad cheaper than other spots around and the ppl that run it are very nice. ”
